Zambia Sugar Plc, a large agro-industry which is part of illova Sugar Ltd, is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. It’s main activities are the growing of sugarcane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products. The company has a permanent employee base of 1,700 employees and offers medical, educational, sport, recreation and other social facilities on the Estate in Mazabuka.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage instrumentation and control maintenance programs in accordance with organization’s maintenance strategy
- Analyzing repetitive instrumentation and control systems failures and responsible for implementing long term failure prevention plans
- Ensuring that all instrumentation maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with the Zambian legislation and company policies
- Coordination and optimization of spare stocks for the instrumentation section
- Designing and implementation of an new systems or system modifications which are required from time to time
- Responsible for overall implementation and commissioning of any new systems, as identified under group automation plan
- Responsible for the technical training and development of employees under the instrumentation section
Qualifications
- BEng, BSc, BTech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or equivalent
- 10 years experience from reputable organization
- Knowledge of field instrumentation
- Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA and HMI systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
- Full member of the engineering institute of Zambia
- Demonstrated organisational and planning skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
