Position title : Finance Assistant-Intern
Duty station: Harare
Duration : 3 months with a possibility of extension

Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the direct supervision of Resources Management Officer, the intern will assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and guidelines for Implementing Partners. The intern will be required to carry out the following functions
Responsibilities
- Review all relevant documents and materials related to IPs work with IOM mission in Zimbabwe in order to acquire basic understanding of policies, frameworks of programme/activities of the organization
- Carry a desk review of Implementing Partners (IPs) attached to the organization to collect all information to be used in the development of the financial manual that incorporates policies, procedures and guidelines
- Assist in developing IP functional financial guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Assist with the roll out of the developed IP financial manual
- Assist to develop training programmes and materials for IPs
- Assist in other financial/administrative duties as may be assigned
Education qualification and Experience
- Minimum of three years university studies, a first degree, in Accounting, Administration finance and other social sciences or related field.
- Ideally the intern must be a student enrolled in a degree program from a recognized institution seeking for internship opportunities.
- At least two years of relevant working experience.
- Experience in research and in drafting and developing guidelines and policies would be preferred.
- Exposure to unstructured problem solving, analysis of financial information and documentation.
- More specific experience such as SAP or specialised computer programs will be an added advantage.
Additional Information:
The duration of internships is 3 months with a possibility of extension. A Monthly subsistence allowance is offered.
