Description of internship project:
The IT Intern will be part of the Zambia Country Program team and will assist his/her internship manager in troubleshooting activities and other IT related tasks. The intern will learn to investigate and support user issues as instructed by his/her internship manager.
Internship goals and learning objectives/benefit to the intern:
Intern will be emerged in a workplace environment and be a part of the country IT Support team. As part of the Zambia Country Program support team, the intern will learn to collaborate with the helpdesk team in PATH’s Zambia office as well as learn from the IT experience of his/her supervisor while offering his/her classroom knowledge and learning and research abilities. The intern will learn network administration and internal customer service approaches while gaining first-hand experience working with a team of professionals focused on better data analyses to support enhanced global health impact. The intern will be able to refine his/her knowledge and understanding of IT networks in the context of a country office environment.
Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:
- Develop customer communication techniques for bringing cases to resolution/closure
- Troubleshooting in a Helpdesk workplace environment
- Improving user communication skills
- Windows 10 Ent OS features and support
- Imaging laptops
- Learning and using a Warranty support call procedure
Proposed activities:
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving staff IT issues
- Performs OS upgrades
- Learn and utilize Jira Helpdesk interface
- Learn and implement Lenovo warranty support call procedures
Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):
Intern will be evaluated based on outcomes of the proposed activities as well as on feedback from customers, peers, and his/her supervisor assessment. The intern will meet regularly with internship manager and the rest of the team.
Required skills and experience:
Diploma (Preferably working towards a degree) in computer science, information systems, information technology, computer, and related subjects.

Must have legal authorization to work in Zambia.
