Org. Setting and Reporting

The internship in the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) is for a period of three-months with the possibility of extension, subject to the needs of the office. The selected intern will be reporting to an internship supervisor, who will assign him/her tasks and monitor/evaluate his/her work and attendance.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours).
This internship job opening is for general conference services only. Please DO NOT apply if you are interested in internships in translation, interpretation, verbatim reporting or other language-related positions.

Education
Applicants must be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) or if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, preferably in law, international relations, political science, information technology, business or any other related field that is deemed relevant to the work of the department. Be proficient in standard software applications. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the UN and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.

Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Internship Programme.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the Internships. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.
