Internship Opportunities at Zambia CBNRM Forum


The Zambia CBNRM Forum seeks an Intern to provide support to the National Coordinator and occasionally to other members of the Secretariat. The intern will work with the forum secretariat staff across different departments in the Lusaka office to ensure the smooth and timely flow of work. This position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied duties and projects. These duties require working on matters of the highest sensitivity and with total discretion. The intern reports to the National Coordinator and is based in Lusaka.

Your contribution

  • Work closely with the National Coordinator for all secretariat administrative needs;
  • Support administrative preparation for key events, meetings and retreats and assist in the creation and updating of communication materials, including one pagers and presentations;
  • Provide logistical, planning support, and on the ground support as needed, for meetings, events, and trips. This includes scheduling, preparing for, and attending meetings and taking notes or minutes as requested. Also, preparing or organizing PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets and correspondences;
  • Coordinate inquiries and responses from internal and external contacts in English and other languages
  • Translate, proof-read and edit documentation in English;
  • Coordinate and compile travel briefing books and notes for the National Coordinator
  • Serve as the logistical support for various working groups;
  • Routinely update the membership database with relevant information on prospective and current members and run reports as requested;
  • Fulfill other administrative functions, including;
  • Assisting with travel arrangements and expense report preparation;
  • Invoicing, expense reconciling and reclassing;
  • Acting as the procurement and finance liaison for the National Coordinator;
  • Ordering supplies and other materials;
  • Creating and maintaining filing systems; managing heavy email/paper flow;
  • Word processing and photocopying;
  • Conducting research on a variety of program-related topics as requested;
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject preferably business administration or project management;
  • Strong command of English language and refined writing skills;
  • Fluency in English and professional level verbal and written skills in English
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.);
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practice to improve efficiency;
  • Proven ability to develop routines to manage large workloads and organize work efficiently;
  • Readiness to interact positively with a variety of people and assume diverse duties and tasks;
