IT Manager job in Zambia


Abt Associates, a major American research, technical assistance, and consulting firm, seeks qualified candidates for a new, 5-year health systems strengthening project in Zambia. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the project will work to improve health outcomes in Zambia by strengthening systems that support the delivery of high quality health services and by increasing the utilization of high impact health interventions.

Skills and abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, written English, and oral presentation skills; and knowledge of local languages (preferred)

Duties

  • Establishes, manages and maintains the project’s computer network in 6 operational locations
  • Serves as the LAN Administrator
  • Performs hardware troubleshooting, and liaises with vendors for warranty support
  • Provides desktop and laptop computer support, including performing routine preventive maintenance
  • Works with the Project internet service provider to solve any service problems

 Key qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant information technology area
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in IT network administration and server management in a Windows NT environment.
