Key Accountabilities
- Posting all daily transactions into the respective cashbooks and ledger accounts
- Supervising and reconciling bank accounts and ensure that these are concluded on a daily basis
- Ensuring that all loan disbursements/customer refunds are duly paid and submitted to the respective banks for processing timely
- Dealing with all bank queries and liaising with the bank
- Ensure all documents/records for daily accounting transactions are properly filed and stored in a secure manner
- Tax return completion and assistance with ZRA matters
Fixed Asset Management
- Label all Assets for the company and record them in a Register.
- Update/Monitor the Fixed Assets register with costs and depreciation. Ensure that this matches with the records per General Ledger.
Petty Cash management
- Reconcile and replenish petty cash floats for all branches ensuring that all the required documents are available prior to presentation and ensure that this is posted in the accounting system
- Whenever necessary, conduct the review of petty cash maintenance and utilization in all the branches
- Stores/Inventory management
- Supervising Accounts clerks assigned to assist in
- Filing management/control
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Secures financial information by completing database backups
- Guiding/Supervising accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Preparing financial reports when required to do so
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Key Skills/Experience
- CIMA/ACCA/ZICA Finalist/doing final level;
- Computer literate;
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or any other accounting package;
- 3 to 6 years of relevant working experience;
- Has interpersonal skills and requires less supervision;
- Ability to work long hours whenever necessary to meet deadlines;
- Can/is able to multitask;
- Has experience of preparing financial statements/management accounts/trial balance;
- Budgeting/Projections skills; and
- Good knowledge of the Zambian Taxation System.
