The Ministry of Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently implementing a four year support programme on “Enhancing Justice Delivery and Human Rights for All” with the aim to strengthen the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) capacities and improve access to justice for the vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of Head of Governance and Programme Specialist, the UN volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Assist in coordinating the implementation and monitoring of the programme;
- Assist in managing implementation of the programme through developing work plans, monitoring and evaluation of plans;
- Compile a directory of contacts by means of a database;
- Assisting in the organization of conferences, forums or other collaborative events;
- Assist in preparing annual work plans, budgets, progress reports, concepts notes and other project documents;
- Prepare documents for printing;
- Produce articles and write ups on the programme and its results;
- Assist in developing funding proposals, provide inputs for feedback to donor queries and concerns, and contribute to any other resource mobilization efforts of the Country Office;
- Provides Secretarial services to the UPR National Steering Committee, the JLOS Platform and subcommittees constituted under these mechanisms;
- Provides Rapporteuring Services;
- Perform any duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Furthermore, UN volunteers are encouraged to:
- Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark IVD);
- Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
- Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
- Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
- Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN volunteers;
- Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- University degree in Developmental studies, International human rights law, Law, and /or other related social science fields.
Experience:
- At least 3 years or more relevant work experience;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel etc.).
Language:
- Fluency in the United Nations and national language of the duty station is mandatory.
