JTI Leaf Zambia Limited (JTI) is a tobacco leaf subsidiary of Japan Tobacco Incorporated, a leading international tobacco product manufacturer operating in 120 countries. Operating in Zambia since 2010, JTI has operations in Chipata, Kaoma and Lusaka where it supports and procures tobacco leaf from over 7,000 small scale and commercial farmers.

JTI invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced people to fill the following vacant position in Zambia:

Financial Planning & Analysis and Internal Controls Officer, Lusaka (x1)

Position Purpose: Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis and Internal Controls Manager, the FP&A and Internal Controls Officer will be:

  • Responsible for the collection and analysis of data to support the FP&A Manager in the planning process during the entity’s planning cycles
  • Collecting Operating and Capital Expenditure data from departmental heads and consolidating this data for submission to Headquarters
  • Updating the Business Planning System with the approved budgets at each planning cycle
  • Ensuring consistent and efficient local management reporting and spend analysis across functional areas at a detailed level
  • Prepare monthly tracking reports, Year to Date results against budgets and ensuring that variances are investigated and explained
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial evaluations for projects prior to project approval
  • Ensuring effective execution of Internal Control processes and reporting requirements
  • Conducting internal audits and performing organisational risk analysis
  • Any other tasks requested by direct supervisorEducation
  • Bachelor of Accountancy plus Full ACCA, CIMA or other relevant professional qualifications

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years working at an audit or commercial organization
  • Experience in a multinational with cross boarder reporting requirements would be an added advantage

Language & Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office with advanced skills in Excel
  • Fluent written and Spoken English (Speak, Read & Write)
