Kamutamba Project: General Manager Apprentice
VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: KAMUTAMBA GENERAL MANAGER APPRENTICE
We are looking for a Zambian General Manager Apprentice to help run the Kamutamba Project. The Kamutamba Project is an Income Generating Activity (IGA) to the benefit of the local St Theresa Mission Hospital. It is the duty of the Apprentice General Manager to ensure that the project runs smoothly, efficiently, effectively and profitable to provide the Hospital with as much financial support as possible, while maintaining the high quality and positive client experience for which Kamutamba has become known.
The General Manager Apprentice has the following DUTIES which are to Contribute to:
- Ensure the Kamutamba project runs smoothly, efficiently, effectively and profitably;
- Maintain up to date and accurate financial record keeping system utilizing a bookkeeping app;
- Maintain up to date and accurate room booking system using a room booking app;
- Supervise staff in all of Kamutamba’s Income Generating Activities;
- Write quarterly narrative and financial reports for different parties;
- Ensure quarterly profits are transferred to the St Theresa Mission Hospital;
- Ensure timely updates to donors and the Belgium Foundation;
- Ensure sufficient stock is present for all Kamutamba IGAs (Kiosk, Guesthouse, Bar/Restaurant);
- Ensure Kamutamba staff is paid on time and receives all support they need;
- Promote the Kamutamba Project on social media and amongst (local) potential clients;
- Keep Kamutamba Project website and FB page up to date;
- Ensure Kamutamba clients and visitors receive the highest service possible;
- Ensure sufficient and timely maintenance is done on all components of the Kamutamba Project;
The General Manager Apprentice should have the following:
- At least Grade 12 leaving certificate with Excellent grades, preferably Diploma Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality or related field;
- 2 to 5 years’ experience as General Manager;
- Comfortable with working with computers and the internet;
- Excellent bookkeeping and financial management skills’
- Experience with stock keeping and supply chains;
- Experience with narrative and financial reporting;
- Excellent problem solving techniques;
- Hospitable and client oriented demeanor;
- Experience with PR and Marketing (including FB and Instagram);
- Basic knowledge on construction and maintenance related tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills;
- Fluent in English;
- Eye for detail, Hardworking and Reliable;
- No side projects or other major responsibilities;
- Zambian nationality.
