KEDA would like to recruit 1 x Safety Officer for its new operations in the Lusaka Multi-Facility Economic Zone (LMFEZ).

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

We are looking for a Safety Officer to join our team and promote continual improvement, humility and safety across the company.

Main Accountabilities

• Confirm safety aspects on site, including need for personal protective equipment, sources of ignition and potential need for evacuation;
• Conducting inductions, inspections, safety awareness programs, training to ensure understanding and compliance to safety management system, standards and requirements.
• Advise employees in the area of any potential threat and/or initiate evacuation procedures;
• Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
• Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety obtained from a recognized institution
• 3 years minimum work experience in related field
• Advanced First Aid or Basic Life Support
• Basic Fire Fighting knowledge
• Self-motivation, leadership and innovation.
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
• Member of Zambia Occupational Health and Safety Association (ZOHSA) will be an added advantage.
