A new vacancy has been created at our Zambia operations office. This role is suited to a qualified ACCA/CIMA with 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably gained at a large-sized accounting and auditing firm.

• Preparation of group entity annual financial statements (i.t.o IFRS)
• Completion and submission of Group entity tax returns (income, DWT)
• Oversee compilation of monthly management accounts, and presentation of same
• Preparation of annual budget for the group
• Review and measurement of actual performance against budget
• Forecasting of results during the financial year – review and update predictive model
• Responsible for finance dept operations, review schedules, reconciliations and controls
• Ensure controls and risk-limiting mechanisms are in place and reviewed regularly
• Management, training, and supervision of finance department staff
• Authorize payments, monthly review of debtors and journals
• Ensure all statutory returns are timeously and accurately completed and submitted
• Manage relationships with external auditors, finance service providers
• Manage capital adequacy and reserve requirements
• Assess and improve process and procedures

Key requirements for applicants:

• ACCA/CIMA: qualified chartered accountant
• Previous experience (with proven track record) in similar function a requirement, minimum 5-8 years post qualifications experience)
• Strong MS Office suite applications skills required
• Computer literacy: MS Office, Sage 300 ERP advantageous
• Previous supervisory or management experience an advantage
• Previous commercial working experience in a large accounting environment
• Fluency in English required (verbal and written)
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work in a high volume environment
• Ability to work independently, and excellent organizational skills a requirement
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines a requirement
