Responsibilities:

• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
• Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads
• Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles, belongings, or materials.
• Drive vehicles with capacities under the specified tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations
• Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Maintain vehicles in good working condition. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Report vehicle or equipment malfunctions.

• Notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Grade Twelve (Grade 12) Certificate
• Class CE Drivers’ Licence
• Not less than 2 years driving license
• Valid First Aid Certificate is an added advantage
