Job Description

Primarily involved in realtime on-line fleet tracking activities in line with Transport improvement programme(PATROM) requirements. Also, gives support to dispatch officers in monitoring truck movements to ensure minimum turn around time and timely reporting at loading points.

Major activities:

  1. Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly OBC exceptions reports by transporter highlighting action plans and closure rate.
  2. Realtime online fleet monitoring/tracking to ensure all OBC rule violations are detected as and when they occur.
  3. To always ansure all trucks presented to dispatchers have a live OBC status before loading and throughout the trip after loading
  4. To make immediate follow ups with the TZL Transport Coordinator and Transporters OBC officers to ensusre the detected rule violations are attended to immediately
  5. To work in collaboration with the Transporters’ OBC and HSE officers to ensure consistent utilization of the tracking system and proper interpretation of reports and results.
  6. Participating in near miss and safety incident/acciddent investigations.
  7. Take part in all driver/transporter toolbox meetings to share meaning lessons on TZL expectations as regards trip management requirements
  8. Daily and timely sharing with the dispatchers, truck availability/live positioning to ensure adequate distribution of logistical resources at all loading points and give meaningful advice on trip planning
  9. Assisting supervisor in following up with transporters regarding truck availability and OBC statuses
  10. Daily preparation of suitable extracted trip activity reports highlighting the degree of measurable compliance.

Head-Office relationship

  • Ensure that fleet trip activities comply with the rules/procedures set by the affiliate/Head Office
  • Propose and discuss fleet OBC performance optimization and reporting improvements

Candidate profile

The job holder should posses a diploma or its equivalent in either ICT or Logistics/Fleet management from a recognize learning institution.

Must posses at least 2 years post qualifying working experience.
