Plan International Zambia has programme areas in; Central, Luapula, and Eastern Provinces including in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located.
Plan International Zambia seeks to recruit suitable, self-starters and experienced candidates for the following positions to be based in Kabwe, Central Province:
LOGISTICS & PROCUREMENT OFFICER EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAMME – FOOD CRISIS -X 1 – TEMPORAL POSITION-3 MONTHS
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Logistics and Procurement Officer will ensure effectiveness in Logistics and supply chain planning, Vehicle logistics coordination; Property and fixed asset register maintenance, Security and emergency procurement. S/he will report to the ERM.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and consolidate requisitions for purchasing in accordance with Plan policies and procedures.
- Consolidate project material requirements submitted by the emergence response staff for purchases.
- Obtain quotations, delivery costs and items and negotiate terms and conditions on behalf of Plan Zambia.
- Create, update and share monthly SAP purchase tracking report with the Procurement and Logistics Manager and Country office procurement unit as per agreed standards.
- Maintains records of all purchases, agreements, contracts and ensure regular updates where necessary.
- Prepare vehicle weekly/monthly reports, logbook-, trip-, and fuel records, monitors’ utilization, maintenance and fuel consumption and carry out monthly fuel and maintenance spend analysis.
- Monitor vehicle accidents and ensure timely and accurate preparation of accident/incident reports to the region.
- Take responsibility for the Office fixed asset and stock inventories and to ensure the completeness of their records and regular updating of the register. Fixed assets reports to be generated at any time on the technical condition, maintenance needs, lifetime/expiry (replacement, retirement), usage and returns of all physical assets including vehicles, (rented) compounds, buildings and their technical infrastructure
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree / Diploma in Procurement and Supply chain Management, Logistics or Business management field with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in similar role at a reputable organization.
- A professional qualification and membership of recognized purchasing and supplies institution.
- Demonstrated relevant progressive experience in similar posts
- Deeper understanding of the various Donor grants procurement rules and guidelines
- Fluent in English and local languages ( Bemba / Nyanja)
