Job Description

We’re searching for a qualified finance manager to join us in providing a balanced combination of professional investment management and personalized financial planning. Objectives of this Role

  • Identify new metrics to drive business performance relative to strategic priorities while minimizing risk
  • Drive value within the business through margin enhancement, lowering costs and driving operational efficiencies
  • Execute accurate reporting, enabling yourself to analyze options and make financial recommendations
  • Provide insight into business performance against competitor and industry trends
  • Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and tax authorities
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Oversee weekly cash-flow forecasts for approval and fund replenishment wire requests
  • Ensure that requests for payments have appropriate approvals
  • Oversee the preparation of field expense vouchers ensuring accuracy of expense coding
  • Assist in preparing payroll, ensuring leave balances and taxes are accurately recorded
  • Ensure the project is in compliance with all tax liabilities and statutory remittances
  • Prepare and submits field expense extracts and coordinates with the Project Associate to complete field office to home office expense bi-weekly reporting
  • Perform any approved accounting corrections and reversals
  • Manage the relationship with the bank and verify all payment transactions processed through online banking system have been duly authorized.
  • Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are prepared
  • Provide spot check on the management of Petty Cash and Approves Petty Cash transactions
  • Review travel requests and expense reports for accuracy and compliance and that procedures are adhered to, to ensure accurate and timely payment and reconciliation of travel advances, reimbursements for staff and partner travel
  • Coordinate strategic financial plan process for both the client and corporate, including expenses, income, insurance coverage, objectives, tax status, risk tolerance, or other elements to build a strategy
  • Focus on all daily and month-end accounting procedures for the account results, including P&L activity (management fees, fee splits, gross-up entries, recluses, etc.), balance sheet activity (deferrals, accruals); accounts receivable /cash application in compliance with GAAP
  • Support finance partners in the implementation of valuation models, development of ongoing measurement, tracking performance versus expectations, and providing recommendations for corrective actions
  • Escalate any delays or other issues to the CFO
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the CFO

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
  • Professional qualification such as CIMA/ACCA/ZICA or similar will be considered a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in a financial management position. Experience in logistics company is an added advantage
  • Accuracy in working with large amounts of data
  • Ability to respond effectively to the time sensitive inquiries
  • Experience with enterprise accounting software, and Microsoft office suite
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image
  • An extremely well organized and self-directed individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Able to maintain good working relationships with team members while retaining high levels of confidentiality and discretion
