The Road Development Agency is a statutory organization whose function is to plan, manage and coordinate the road network in the country. The Agency is responsible for planning, care, maintenance and construction of public roads in Zambia. It also regulates the maximum permissible weights on roads, conducts studies for the development, maintenance and improvement of the road network, and reviews design standards and classification.

In order to implement this mandate the Road development agency now wishes to fill up the vacant position as follows:

MANAGER – OPERATIONS AXLE LOAD CONTROL (1 POSITION) Head Office

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Able Load Control, the Manager – Operations shall be responsible for the supervision of the operations of fixed Weighbridges and its Staff.

Main duties & Accountabilities

  • Supervising the operations of fixed Weighbridges and its staff by ensuring that the law on Axle Load Regulation and Enforcement is properly followed;
  • Supervising the Operations of Highway and Mobile Inspection Teams;
  • Supervising Abnormal Load Management;
  • Preparation of Axle Load Plans, Reports, and Statistics;
  • Implementation of all Kaizen activities aimed at reducing cost, shortening processing time, improving delivery, improving documentation management, fostering strong teamwork in Axle Load Unit;

Qualifications & Experience

  • Form V / Grade 12 School Certificate;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science/ Information Technology;
  • Basic understanding of Axle Load Operations is required;
  • Member of an appropriate professional body ;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license; and
  • At least 5 years industry working experience.
