- Job Title: MANAGER, TRAINING, AND DEVELOPMENT (1 POSITION)
Purpose: Responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of training and development activities in line with the Staff Development Policy of the University of Zambia.
Responsibilities:
- Spearheads the preparation of work plans;
- Prepares annual training plans and budgets;
- Coordinates training and development activities;
- Interprets the Staff Development Policy to employees;
- Secures and disseminates information on scholarships to staff on the Staff Development Programmes;
- Provides secretarial services to the Staff Development Committee and related Committees;
- Enforces staff discipline in accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act and Disciplinary Code of Conduct;
- Spearheads monitoring of the academic performance of staff on the Staff Development Programme;
- Ensures that appropriate action about progress reports received on the performance of staff on the Staff Development Programme is taken
- Coordinates timely preparation of the departmental budget;
- Prepares quarterly and annual reports and submit them to the superior for appropriate action;
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management or related field;
- Master’s degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management or related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience; and
- Must be Computer literate.
