  • Job Title: MANAGER, TRAINING, AND DEVELOPMENT (1 POSITION)

Purpose: Responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of training and development activities in line with the Staff Development Policy of the University of Zambia.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearheads the preparation of work plans;
  • Prepares annual training plans and budgets;
  • Coordinates training and development activities;
  • Interprets the Staff Development Policy to employees;
  • Secures and disseminates information on scholarships to staff on the Staff Development Programmes;
  • Provides secretarial services to the Staff Development Committee and related Committees;
  • Enforces staff discipline in accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act and Disciplinary Code of Conduct;
  • Spearheads monitoring of the academic performance of staff on the Staff Development Programme;
  • Ensures that appropriate action about progress reports received on the performance of staff on the Staff Development Programme is taken
  • Coordinates timely preparation of the departmental budget;
  • Prepares quarterly and annual reports and submit them to the superior for appropriate action;

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management or related field;
  • Master’s degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management or related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience; and
  • Must be Computer literate.
