In the quest to meet national and global human resource needs in a Responsible, Accountable, Relevant, and Ethical (RARE) way, Mulungushi University has set itself on a firm expansion trajectory. Arising from that, vacancies have arisen for lecturers.

The lecturers so employed will be expected to participate in teaching (full time and distance learning), research, consultancy and service to the community.

Mulungushi University is thus inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following vacant academic positions:-

1.0 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES

Department of Nursing and Midwifery

1.1 LECTURER IN NURSING ETHICS AND RELATIONSHIPS (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade School 12 Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from a reputable  and accredited University
• A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Medical and Surgical Nursing from a reputable and accredited University or its equivalent
• Possession of a valid practicing license from the General Nursing  Council of Zambia (GNCZ) or equivalent
• Computer literate
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• At least 2 years teaching experience at College or University level

1.2 LECTURER IN MEDICAL AND SURGICAL NURSING (01 position)

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from a reputable  and accredited University
• A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree or equivalent  from a reputable and accredited University
• Possession of a valid practicing license from the General Nursing  Council of Zambia (GNCZ) or its equivalent
• Computer literate
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level

1.3 LECTURER IN MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH (01 position)

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from a reputable and accredited University with at least a Merit or its equivalent
• A Diploma in Clinical Teaching (Nursing) will be an added advantage
• Possession of a valid practicing license from the General Nursing Council of Zabima (GNCZ) or equivalent
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of work experience will be an added advantage

1.4 NURSING CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR (1 position)

Purpose:

To work with students in skills practice, demonstration and simulation in the Nursing Skills Laboratory.

Qualifications:

• Full Grade School 12 Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Maternal and Child Health or Midwifery from a reputable and accredited University
• A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing in Maternal and Child Health or Midwifery from a reputable and accredited University or equivalent
• Possession of a valid practicing license from the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ) or equivalent
• Computer literate
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level

2. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES

2.1 LECTURER IN LAW (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned full-time taught Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A full-time taught Master of Laws degree (LLM) from a reputable and accredited University or equivalent
• Ph.D. in the related specialty will be preferred
• Computer literate
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level  will be an added advantage though not mandatory

2.2 LECTURER IN JOURNALISM (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with ()5 Credits or better
• An earned full-time taught Bachelor in Journalism degree with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A full-time taught Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Journalism or Mass of Communication from a reputable and accredited University or equivalent
• Ph.D. in the related specialty will be preferred
• Computer literate
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or industrial practice will be an added advantage

3.0 SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, AND TECHNOLOGY

3.1 LECTURER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING (02 positions)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with ()5 Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• MSc in Civil Engineering from a reputable and accredited University or equivalent
• A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• 2 years of Teaching experience at College or University level or industrial practice will be an added advantage

3.2 LECTURER IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (01 position)

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five Credits or better
• An earned Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a reputable and accredited University
• A Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or industrial practice will be an added advantage

3.3 LECTURER IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 credits or better
• An earned Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable and accredited University
• A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or industrial practice will be an added advantage

3.4 LECTURER IN BIOTECHNOLOGY (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned BSc degree in Biological Sciences with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University;
• A Master of Science in Biotechn010U or closely related from a reputable and accredited University
• A PhD in Biotechn010U will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at  College or University level or will be an added advantage

3.5 LECTURER IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned BSc degree in Chemistry with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from a reputable and  accredited University
• A PhD in Analytical Chemistry will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at  College or University level or will be an added advantage

3.6 LECTURER IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned BSc degree in Chemistry with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
• A PhD in Organic Chemisåy will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at  College or University level or will be an added advantage

3.7 LECTURER IN LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned BSc degree in Laboratory Technology or closely related field with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A Master of Science in Laboratory Technology or closely related field or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A Ph.D. in Laboratory Technology or closely related field or equivalent will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at  College or University level or will be an added advantage

4.0 SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

4.1 LECTURER IN EDUCATION (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned full-time taught Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts  with Education or Bachelor of Education degree with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University;
• A full-time taught Master of Arts degree in Education from a reputable and accredited University
• A Ph.D. in Education will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or will be an added advantage
• A higher qualification in Primary Education will be another added advantage

4.2 LECTURER IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned full-time taught Bachelor of Arts with Education degree in Religious Studies with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A full-time taught Master of Arts degree in Religious Education from a reputable and accredited University
• A Ph.D. in Studies will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at  College or University level or will be an added advantage

4.3 LECTURER IN LINGUISTICS AND AFRICAN LANGUAGES (01 position)

Qualifications:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
• An earned full-time taught Bachelor of Arts with Education degree in Linguistics and African Languages with at least a Merit or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
• A full-time taught Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and African Languages from a reputable and accredited University
• A PhD in Linguistics and African Languages will be preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
• Computer literate
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or will be an added advantage
• For lecturing positions in Engineering and Medicine disciplines, membership to relevant professional bodies is mandatory.
