NFC Africa Mining PLC is an international mining company with its core business in the development of non-ferrous metals and mineral resources in Zambia. We are seeking for suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to fill the vacant positions below:
1. Mechanical Engineers (2 positions).
Key Responsibilities
Providing detailed manpower and equipment schedules with clear objectives for production
Working closely with his/her team to enable the successful exchange of ideas for improvement and suggests improvement for the benefit of the mine operations.
Setting the tone and behaviors to maintain the Safety goals of the company.
Liaise with other teams in troubleshooting, root cause and incident investigations including equipment failures and defects for low impact planned and unplanned events.
Providing accurate records of work progress in daily reporting for all areas under his/her direct control.
Fully engaged in continuous improvement and root cause failure analysis for major breakdowns
Collection of data on critical production equipment and trying to improve their performance
Contributing to daily and weekly staff meetings as required maintaining planned area progress.
Managing costs by optimizing use of consumables, materials, equipment, and labour.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Holder of EIZ Certificate
Valid Driving License
Experience: Minimum of 5 years work experience
Knowledge of scheduling, man-hour requirements, safe work practices, ability to manage multiple diverse teams and work fronts.
Hands-on experience in maintenance and production related processes
2. Electrical Engineers (2 positions).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare protective and typical diagrams ;
Manage electrical installations
Ensure risks are identified and managed and a safe working environment is maintained
Detail the power balances, installation sizes, written documents and notes
Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with all statutory obligations
Ensure all registered equipment operating in the mine is fully compliant with statutory regulations
Design electrical devices and systems
Manage and maintain various electronics products ;
Review system drawings
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
Holder of EIZ Certificate
Valid Driving License
Experience: Minimum of 5 years work experience, having worked on locomotives will be an added advantage.
Must be computer literate i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Must have good communication skills in English language with an emphasis on writing skills
3. Shift Boss (4 Positions)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent Will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
Ensures compliance with the Mines Act.
Ensures workplace safety and environmental standards are established and met, and that standards and procedures are communicated to site personnel
Assists with filling personnel requirements for mine and other departments
Assists with sourcing and filling equipment needs
Prioritizes tasks and delegates workload to mine crews and monitors progress.
Provides leadership and encourages performance
Communicates routinely and effectively with the Shift manager and other supervisory personnel as required
Tracking, analysis and or equipment to ensure optimum usage assisting Mine Captains in pit where there is found to be excessive under/over utilization of equipment.
Manage all disciplinary hearings to get zero backlog of cases
In charge of the operations in the pit within a section or two.
To follow correct instructions from the respective supervisor and laid down procedure and regulations.
Performs other related duties that may be required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Full Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma / Degree in Mine Engineering / Mineral Science or any related qualification from a recognized institution.
Valid Blasting Certificate
Valid First Aid Certificate
5 years’ relevant experience in mining is required
Comfortable working with machines,
Knowledge of mining rules and regulations
Proven track record of supervising and managing people
