Mech Instrument: First Quantum Minerals Ltd Zambia – July 2017

The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

• Ability to assist the Technician in setup, calibrate and maintain a wide variety of field Instrumentation related to processing plants. This should include, but not be limited to:
  • Weightometers  (Process Automation, Ramsey)
  • Measuring transducers/transmitters
  • Signal converters
  • Control valves
• Assist in installation and replacement of new instruments as per companys and vendors safety and quality standards.
• Assist in maintenance work and plant upgrades
• Able to identify instrumentation spares
• Able to identify the most commonly used hand tools as well as being able to use them for the specific tasks.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English.
• Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum of  Secondary Certificate(Grade 12).
• Craft Certificate in Instrumentation
• A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)

Experience

• Two years experience and exposure as an instrumentation assistant in chemical & mineral processing Plant.
• Previous experience in conveyor systems, mill operation & control, floatation Circuit will be an added advantage,
• Knowledge of PLCs will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ProfiBus(DP & PA) and ModBus will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of field Instrumentation, maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting will be added advantage.
