Mecs Africa Recruiting Civil and Hydraulic Engineer

This position is “classed” part-time in that the Applicant will only work 3 to 4 days a week. All Applicants need to be based in Zambia as this project is non-rotational and is for a period of 3 t 5 years starting in January 2018.

Job Description:

Overall lead for civil/hydraulic components and the wastewater facilities; this includes open channel flow as well as pressurized piping modelling and model interpretations leading to designs.
Will work with an Electro-mechanical engineer on pumping design issues. Actively support procurement and contract negotiations with professional service providers.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, from an accredited university.
15 Years of experience in detailed engineering design, procurement, construction supervision, contract administration and project management in similar sanitation projects.
Lead or support engineer for treatment plant hydraulics, pump station hydraulics and sewered pipe hydraulics on at least 2 assignments.
Ability to function independently and manage a team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare reports
