This position is ” classed” as part-time as the candidate only works 3 to 4 days a week. This project is only due to start in January 2018 and is for approximately 3 to 5 years – all applicants must reside in Zambia as there is no rotational leave offered.

Job Description:

Overall oversight of all aspects related to environment and social performance and compliance.
Overall responsibility for ensuring the development and implementation of the contractor’s Environmental and Social management Plans (ESMPs).
Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager, as well as the client to ensure coordination.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in science or engineering related field such as civil engineering or chemical engineering or environmental science or related technical field.
Approximately 10 years demonstrable experience with managing and providing oversight for projects compliance to environment permits, health and safety regulations.
Operational Knowledge of international environmental guidelines and policies, and environmental and social mitigation measures for similar projects in the past 5 years.
Knowledge of Zambia environmental laws and regulations, particular those relevant to wastewater treatment, community health and safety, sludge management, etc.

Required Education:
Master’s Degree in Science or engineering related field – Civil/Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science.

Language requirements:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
