The major key result area (KRA) of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development is mobilisation of women and communities, the other two are economic empowerment of women and communities and gender mainstreaming. At the grassroots levels, one of the critical roles of the Ministry is to facilitate articulation of Government policies and programmes in the economic and social sectors such as the, the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim-Asset), and other development concepts.

The Ministry with support from UNFPA and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care has established a One Stop Center (OSC) at Gweru Provincial Hospital. The OSC provides all key services required by a GBV survivor under one roof.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Provincial Development Officer of Midlands Province the Administrative Assistant will effectively co-ordinate services of the different service providers. The Assistant will be responsible for ensuring partners are available to offer services and that survivors receive the required services at the OSC. He/she will responsible for receiving Survivors, administering the registration process. The incumbent would also be responsible for referring survivors to the relevant service provider according to survivor’s needs. Data collection, filing, writing. and submitting reports on time are some of the key responsibilities for this post. Other responsibilities aligned to this role include; the general smooth running of the OSC and ensuring that offices are always presentable. The Assistant will be responsible to maintain the Ministry’S visibility as the owners of the OSC.

To apply, candidates will need the following qualifications, skills and competencies:

  • Degree in Social Sciences
  • Knowledge of data collection
  • Certificate in counselling
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely especially report writing
  • Experience in GBV programming
  • Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members, Implementing Partners, and other line Ministries especially Ministry of Health and Child Care were the OSC is located.
  • Fluency in English and Shona/ Ndebele
