Zambia Centre for Communications Programme (ZCCP) is a not-for-profit, locally based multi-media communications organization, which uses the power of the mass media (radio, TV, and print) and social mobilization to reach the Zambian population and to affect social and behaviour change.

ZCCP uses a rigorous formative research process to generate appropriate edutainment content relevant to health and development priorities in Zambia. At the community level we work with girls, boys, women, men, persons with disabilities, key and priority populations. At the policy level, we work with the National Assembly of Zambia, House of Chiefs and other Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders and various government ministries and the National AIDS Council. ZCCP is looking to recruit for the following positions:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer (MEL Officer)-(2)

Station: Southern Regional Office (Lusaka): Reporting lines: MEL Manager.

The incumbent will primarily be responsible for maintaining the regional database for all datasets for the project, as well as related datasets (public/programmatic/survey), for purposes of crafting integrated GBV responses informed by this data. He/She will be responsible for developing SOPs for storing and retrieving data, data quality analysis, and correcting data using approved methods. He/she is also responsible for providing custom datasets upon request in a custom format (e.g. as an Excel file). He/she will work closely with the MEL Manager, National M&E Officers, and Regional Coordinator to ensure that there is timely demand for data and use by program and technical staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will be around Data collection, Data Record maintenance, Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) Implementation, Data Management, monthly data updates and Planning and conducting periodical Data Quality Assessments.

Qualifications and Core Competencies Required

(1) University degree in any one of the following: Statistics, Development Studies, Demography, Social Work, Public Health or any other Social Sciences (2) Postgraduate training in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage. (3) Skills and experience in data collection and data assessment/evaluation. (4) Previous working experience with establishing and/or operating M&E systems (5) Experience working on USAID/PEPFAR funded projects is preferred (5) Proficient in the use of computer applications especially MS Word and Excel (6) Experience working with statistical packages such as SPSS and STATA.
