The Company seeks the services of a SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEER.

Reporting to the Mine Senior Planning Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising Mine Planning functions at Mufulira Mine Site.

Duties will among others, include:

• Prepare Short and Long term production plans in order to maintain economical and efficient underground operations.
• Coordinate all Short and Long Term mine planning activities in compliance with mining standards.
• Generate mine plans using Surpac design software. Run production schedules using Surpac – MineScheduler.
• Control of costs.
• Ensure all designs generated in the area of responsibility conform to the safety, health and environmental requirements obtaining in Mining.
• Enforce statutory Mining Regulations and domestic rules in order to provide a safe working environment.

To be considered for this position, one should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
• Minimum 2 years underground work experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mine Planning as Senior Assistant Planning Engineer
• Should be a registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
• Knowledge of Surpac 3D mining software and also Surpac MineScheduler
• Knowledge in AutoCAD will just be an added advantage.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives
