Mpulungu Harbour Corporation limited (MHCL) is inviting applications from suitably qualified members of the public To Carry out electrical works including machinery repair and maintenance, fitting of electronics/electrical equipment in accordance with international standards

Specifically, the Job duties include but not limited to:

1        Electrical Repairs and Maintenance

  • Diagnose and undertake electrical repairs on a wide variety of machinery and buildings
  • Undertake electrical installation of accessories on a wide variety of machinery and buildings
  • Service and repair ancillary parts and equipment as required;
  • Repair and install refrigeration and air conditioning units
  • Inspect, maintain and repair all types of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles and equipment operated by MHCL;
  • Requisition parts and equipment as necessary through the Foreman;
  • Identify repairs required through unfair wear and tear and advise the Foreman;
  • Repair all electrical installations in all port infrastructure
  • Carry out work within a realistic time, as per agreed schedules of work.

2. Health and Safety

  • Effectively and accurately report incidents and safety non-conformances;
  • Actively participate, commit and provide support in the promotion of best practice health and safety.
  • Ensure safety of personnel and prevent damage to company property;
  • Contribute to MHCL capacity to achieve Zero Harm by actively identifying and reporting hazards using the sites hazard reporting system;
  • Adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture; and
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of work place.

3. Reporting

Record all times and attendance hours and Complete all documentation including inspection sheets, certificates, apply signature and job cards as appropriate
