SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, HUMAN NUTRITION (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Dietetics or related subject;
  • Master of Science or PhD in Dietetics or Human Nutrition Sciences;
  • Must have experience of teaching or research at College or University level;
  • Must have proof of publications;
  • Must be computer literate;

 

   JOB TITLE: TECHNOLOGIST (1 POSITION)

Purpose: Responsible for assisting the Chief Scientist in the provision of technical support to the department and carrying out experiments.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, demonstrates and supervises all laboratory experiments in the stated courses.
  • Supervises technical staff in laboratory techniques and operation of instruments.
  • Supervises students’ projects
  • Sets up apparatus for experiments, teaching and research.
  • Assists lecturers with research work
  • Analyses experiment samples or specimen from clients within and outside the University community.
  • Produces laboratory manuals and report books.
  • Ensures that equipment and chemicals are placed in appropriate locations to avoid accidents and that the lab is safe to work in.
  • Provides First Aid to accident victims and keeps a record of accidents;

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Higher National Diploma/Technologist Diploma/Diploma in Chemistry or its equivalent diploma in science laboratory technology.
  • At least three (3) years relevant experience;
  • Computer literacy would be an added advantage.

       SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, ADULT EDUCATION AND EXTENSION STUDIES (2 POSITIONS)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Adult Education or degree in a related field with Diploma in Adult Education;
  • Master of Adult Education or in a related field;
  • Experience in teaching or research at College or University level would be an added advantage;
  • Publications would be an added advantage;
  • Must be Computer literate.

 

       SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering;
  3. Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering;
  4. PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field would be an added advantage;
  5. At least two (2) years teaching or research experience at College or University level;
  6. Must have proof of some publications;
  7. Must be Computer Literate;
  8. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (MEIZ);
  9. Registered Engineer with the Engineers’ Registration Board.

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering;
  3. Master of Science degree in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering;
  4. PhD in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering would be an added advantage;
  5. Proof of Publications would be an added advantage;
  6. Must be Computer literate;
  7. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (MEIZ);

    SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, PHYSIOLOGY (2 POSITIONS)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

  2. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB);
  3. Master of Science in Physiology;
  4. PhD in a related field would be an added advantage;

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, BIOCHEMISTRY (1 POSITION)

        JOB TITLE: LECTURER, PAEDIATRICS & CHILD HEALTH (1 POSITION)

  • Master of Medicine (Paediatrics & Child Health) or its equivalent;

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, PATHOLOGY & MICROBIOLOGY (1 POSITION)

SCHOOL OF MINES

JOB TITLE: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER, MINING ENGINEERING, DEPARTMENT OF MINING ENGINEERING (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Mining Science/Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering;
  • Master of Mining Science/Master of Science or PhD in any of the following specializations;
  • Geostatistics and Resource Estimation;
    • Materials handling and Mine Mechanisation;
    • Mining technology; and
    • Rock mechanics
  • At least two (2) years teaching or research experience at College or University level;
  • Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ);
  • Registered Engineer with the Engineers’ Registration Board.
  • Must have proof of publications.

 

SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES

JOB TITLE: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER, INORGANIC/INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry or Bachelor of Science with Education degree with a major in Chemistry;
  • Master of Science degree in Inorganic Chemistry or Master of Science degree in Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry;
  • PhD in Inorganic Chemistry would be an added advantage;
  • Relevant teaching experience at University level and/or research with publications would be an added advantage;
  • Must be computer literate.

JOB TITLE: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER, ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry or Bachelor of Science with Education degree with a major in Chemistry;
  3. Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry or Master of Science degree in Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry;
  4. PhD in Analytical Chemistry would be an added advantage;Relevant teaching or research experience at College or University level and proof of publications would be an added advantage;

JOB TITLE: SCIENTIST, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY (2 POSITIONS)

Purpose: To provide technical support to the department in carrying out technical and academic activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plans, supervises and coordinates work activities for the technical staff in the Department as assigned;
  2. Plans and demonstrates laboratory practicals to students;
  3. Custodian of all laboratory property;
  4. Prepares and ensures timely production of laboratory manuals and report books;
  5. Assists in preparation of budget for laboratory requirements;
  6. Provides technical assistance to researchers in the Department;

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Bachelor of Science with Education with a major in Chemistry;
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience;
  • Must be Computer Literate.

JOB TITLE: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER, PLANT ECOLOGY (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biological Sciences or Bachelor of Science with Education degree with a major in Biology;
  3. Master of Science degree in Plant Ecology;
  4. PhD in Plant Ecology;
  5. Minimum of five (5) years teaching or research experience at College or University level;
  6. Must have proof of publications;
  7. Must be computer literate.

 

JOB TITLE: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER, MICROBIOLOGY (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biological Sciences or Bachelor of Science degree with Education with a major in Biology;
  3. Master of Science degree in Microbiology;
  4. PhD in Microbiology;
  5. Minimum of five (5) years teaching or research experience at College or University level;
  6. Must have proof of publications;
  7. Must be Computer Literate.

JOB TITLE: CHIEF CARTOGRAPHER, DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To provide technical support to the department in carrying out cartographic and other academic activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares, coordinates and participates in the preparation or review of work plans, policies, work/laboratory manuals, laboratory report books, procedures and related documentation;
  2. Responsible for administrative work such as the ordering of cartographic materials, equipment and other requisites for the department;
  3. Offers technical advice as may be required by academic staff for their research and teaching work;
  4. Supervises all cartographic staff in the department;
  5. Demonstrates techniques and procedures to students during cartographic laboratory sessions;
  6. Prepares cartographic laboratories in digital mapping;
  7. Ensures maintenance of all infrastructure, equipment and instruments in the department and coordinates Geography field course;
  8. Participates in the preparation of Departmental budget;
  9. Maintains an updated inventory of all laboratory equipment and requisites, records on stock and other reports on laboratory operations;
  10. Ensures adherence to safety standards and provides First Aid to accident victims;
  11. Participates in the preparation of quarterly and annual operational performance reports.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Cartography, Geography, Natural Resources Management, Geomatics or any related field;
  3. Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Cartography/Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems would be an added advantage;
  4. At least three (3) years’ experience in a cartographic environment; and
  5. Knowledge of GIS, Remote Sensing and Cartographic Software would be an added advantage.

 

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (1 POSITION)

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Purchasing and Supply, Operations Management, Transport and Logistics or in a related field;
  3. Master’s degree in Production Management, Purchasing and Supply, Operations Management, Transport and Logistics or in a related field;
  4. PhD in a related field would be an added advantage;
  5. Minimum of three (3) years teaching or research experience at College or University level;
  6. Must be computer literate

JOB TITLE: LECTURER, BANKING AND FINANCE (1 POSITION)

  3. Master’s degree in Banking and Finance or in a related field;
