In the quest to meet national and global human resource needs in a Responsible, Accountable, Relevant, and Ethical (RARE) way, Mulungushi University has set itself on a firm expansion trajectory.
Arising from that, vacancies have arisen for lecturers. The lecturers so employed will be expected to participate in teaching (full time and distance learning), research, consultancy and service to the community.
Mulungushi University is thus inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following vacant academic positions:-
1.0 SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, AND TECHNOLOGY
1.1. LECTURER IN MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS (01)
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- An earned Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics degree from a reputable and accredited University
- A minimum of a taught Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics degree or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
- Computer literate
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write scholarly publications
- A PhD in Mathematics and Statistics will be preferred
- At least three (03) years teaching experience at College or University level will be an
added advantage
1.2 LECTURER IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY (01) – Re-advertised
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- An earned BSc degree in Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
- A Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Analytical Chemistry will be preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
- Computer literate
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the College or University level or will be an added
advantage
1.3 LECTURER IN PHYSICS (01)
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- An earned Bachelor’s degree in Physics from a reputable and accredited University
- A minimum of a taught Masters degree in Physics from a reputable and accredited
University - A PhD in Physics will be preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
- Computer literate
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the College or University level or will be an added advantage
1.4 LECTURER IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (01 positions) – Re-advertised
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- An earned BSc degree in Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
- A Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Organic Chemistry will be preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
- Computer literate
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the College or University level or will be an added
advantage
1.5 LECTURER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING (01) – Re-advertised
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable and accredited University
- MSc in Civil Engineering from a reputable and accredited University or equivalent
- A PhD in Civil Engineering will be preferred

- 2 years of teaching experience at College or University level or industrial practice will be an added advantage
SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
2.1 LECTURER IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (02) – Re-advertised
Job Purpose
To participate in teaching both (full time and distance learning) research, consultancy and service to the community.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five (05) credits or better
- An earned Bachelors degree in Public Administration from a reputable and accredited University
- A minimum of a taught Masters degree in Public Administration from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Public Administration will be preferred
- At least three (03) years teaching experience at College or University level will be an added advantage
2.2 LECTURER IN POLITICAL SCIENCE with a bias in International Relations (01)
Job Purpose

Qualifications

- An earned Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from a reputable and accredited University

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
3.1 LECTURER IN LINGUISTICS AND AFRICAN LANGUAGES (01 position) – Re-advertised
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 05 Credits or better
- An earned full-time taught Bachelor of Arts with Education degree in Linguistics and African Languages from a reputable and accredited University
- A full-time taught Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and African Languages from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Linguistics and African Languages will be preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write publications
- Computer literate
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the College or University level will be an added advantage
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES
4.1 LECTURER IN INTERNAL MEDICINE (01)
Purpose:
To teach, conduct research and carry out academic-related responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better
- An earned Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M3ChB) or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
- Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent
- Possession of a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Must be computer literate
- Teaching experience in a Higher Learning Institution will be an added advantage
- Proof of research and publications will be an added advantage
- Possession of a PhD in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage
4.2 LECTURER IN GYNAECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS (01)
Purpose:
To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities,
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better
- An earned Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
- Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University or Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) or equivalent
- Possession of a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Must be computer literate
- Teaching experience in a Higher Learning Institution will be an added advantage
- Proof of research and publications will be an added advantage
- Possession of a PhD in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage
4.3 LECTURER IN PAEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH (01)
Purpose:
To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities.
Qualifications

- An earned Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
- Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health or equivalent from a reputable and accredited University or Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) or equivalent
- Possession of a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Must be computer literate
- Teaching experience in a Higher Learning Institution will be an added advantage
- Proof of research and publications will be an added advantage
- Possession of a PhD in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage
LECTURER IN PHARMACEUTICS (01)
Purpose:
To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better
- An earned Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or its equivalent from a reputable and accredited University
- Minimum of Master of Science in Pharmaceutics or in a related field from a reputable and accredited University
- Possession of a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia
(HPCZ) - Teaching experience in a Higher Learning Institution will be an added advantage
- Must be computer literate
- Proof of research and publications will be an added advantage
- Possession of a PhD in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage
4.5 LECTURER IN PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY (01)
Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better
- An earned Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or related field from a reputable and accredited University
- Minimum of Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a reputable and accredited University
- Possession of a valid practicing license from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Teaching experience in a Higher Learning Institution will be an added advantage
- Must be computer literate
- Proof of research and publications will be an added advantage
- Possession of a PhD in the relevant discipline will be an added advantage
