Job Announcement: Multiple Positions – Lusaka, Zambia

The anticipated CDC Data Systems Support Program intends to strengthen the quality, capacity, and utilization of health-related data for programmatic planning and policy decision-making to support the government and PEPFAR-funded partners in the Republic of Zambia. Akros is currently seeking candidates for several roles on this upcoming opportunity. The hiring of selected candidates is contingent upon successful award of the program to Akros.

  • Project Lead: The Project Lead will serve as the primary liaison between CDC Zambia and Akros on behalf of this grant. S/he will be expected to provide administrative, programmatic, and managerial oversight of all aspects of the project.
  • HIV/AIDS Policy and Governance Expert: The Policy and Governance Expert will work closely with the HIV/AIDS Epidemiologist to translate optimal intervention management strategies into workable and realistic GRZ policies.
  • HIV/AIDS Epidemiologist, Intervention Specialist: The Epidemiologist will be responsible for coaching and mentoring host country government staff, including the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council, in developing programs that are responsive to epidemiological trends.
  • Integration, Warehousing, and Visualizations Specialist: The Integration, Warehousing, and Visualizations Specialist will function as the technology advisor on the project and will be responsible for developing a catalogue of HIV/AIDS surveillance systems in Zambia, identifying architecture, and developing protocol to merge disparate into a data warehouse.

The following positions are general Akros positions and hiring is partially dependent on program funding.

  • Informatics Associate: This associate will be responsible for supporting program implementation and contributing to business development efforts at Akros.
  • Research Associate: This associate will be responsible for documenting Akros successes for peer-reviewed publications, supporting program implementation and contributing to business development efforts.
