The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) is a Statutory Body established by the Biosafety Act No. 10 of 2007, with the mandate to regulate GMOs  and their products in Zambia. NBA is now seeking to recruit suitably qualified Zambian citizens, in the permanent and pensionable positions listed below.

BIOSAFETY INSPECTOR IMPORT AND EXPORTS

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake inspections in order to enforce regulations, guidelines and standards in the import and export of G MOs and their products.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Undertakes effectively the inspections of G MOs and their products at ports of entry and exit in order to safeguard human and animal health and protect the environment
  • Undertakes regular undertaking of surveillance of all import and export activities on GMOs and their products in order to generate information and identification of appropriate interventions.
  • Undertakes effectively the preparation and regular publication of inspection reports in order to facilitate decision making and dissemination
  • Develops timely individual work plans in order to contribute to the implementation and attainment of Sectional objectives.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  1. a) Minimum Primary/Secondary Education: Full Form Five/Grade Twelve School Certificate
  2. b) Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications: BSc. degree in relevant science field.

Communication Skills: Written and Oral

  • Able to write analytical reports in English
  • Able to communicate fluently in English
