Project Description

The primary goal of IDinsight’s research is to test the impact of post-harvest management training in Southern and Central Province in Zambia.

We will be surveying smallholder farmers and extension agents on harvest, drying, storage, and market practices, as well as their experience with extension services.

The survey will take approximately one hour to administer and will be conducted using tablet in one of Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja, Lenje, or English depending on location and respondent.

Job Description

IDinsight seeks very experienced field supervisors to join our team for a period of approximately one month (with possibilities for extension). Applicants must be available to start work immediately.

The field supervisor will be responsible for coordinating field logistics, supervising field teams, ensuring data quality by conducting spot/ back checks, assisting with enumeration and any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive research experience conducting surveys or interviews and leading field teams. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a field team of 15 or more people.

The applicant should have a demonstrated ability to work independently and display strong attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Fluency in English and any of Nyanja, Bemba, Tonga or Lenje is required.

Experience conducting rural agricultural surveys in Central and Southern Provinces is preferred, but not required.
