JOB OPPORTUNITY

RESEARCH OFFICER

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB

  • Preparation and provision of timely and accurate general and legal research, analysis and information to the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) Council and Committee Members.
  • Assisting Council in responding to queries with regard to Parliamentary Bills, Statutes,  court cases and identification and sourcing of relevant legal information for use by Council and Committee Members.
  • Taking responsibility for the quality and relevance of research outcomes particularly when providing legal reference information and research services to LAZ Members.
  • Providing answers to questions/ inquiries from Members and analyzing and evaluating the issues involved and providing relevant and timely reports.
  • To initiate research projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Level credits.
  • Bachelor of Laws Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Previous attendance and attempt of the Legal Practitioners Course at ZIALE will be added advantage.
  • Experience in the delivery of high quality, timely and relevant reports legal and other matters in both written and verbal forms.
  • Working collaboratively in a small committee, contributing to friendly and cooperative team relations and consulting with other members when appropriate.
  • Responding to diverse and often competing demands in a professional and timely
  • Knowledge of fundraising.
  • Ability and experience to implement programmes will be added advantage.
