Purpose: Marie Stopes Zambia (MSZ) seeks a Centre Lead to manage, develop, monitor and support the growth of all static site service delivery points to provide high quality Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. He/She will ensure that MSZ’s youth-oriented sites remain youth-friendly and responsive to youth needs to ensure maximum uptake of services while at the same time maintaining clinical quality. The Centre Lead will also lead the development of the Family Health Centre in Lusaka and evolve this into a sustainable social business. Working with the MSZ Health Services team, the Centre Lead is a key member of the Team and works closely together with the Corporate Director and Call Centre team while managing the Centre staff of both the Family Health Centre and the Diva sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring MSZ remains a results-focused organization, achieving the greatest health impact possible.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development and Centre Management Support
- Continuously develop Centres in line with the values of MSI Global Partnership and the goals of maximizing access of clients to affordable and high-quality family planning and general services
- Monitor monthly performance of the Centre and provide Management with regular updates, in particular with a focus on the quality of services, CYPs, Service income and Income to Cost Ratio
- Analyses monthly performance data and ensures that Centre staff receive regular feedback on performance and are informed of any major changes within MSZ that may have an effect on their activities
- Provide guidance to Centre staff on donor compliance in regards to the provision of family planning services where donor funding is involved
- Regularly review QTA results, exit interviews and mystery client data to ensure ‘evidence into action’ in the Family Health Centre. Work closely with MDT/Clinical quality teams to address identified performance gaps and ensure clinical mentorship is provided.
- Support Centre Managers in day to day activities and facilitate inputs from other departments (Procurement, Logistics, Clinical Quality, HR)
- Stock management
- Work closely with Customer Care Advisor and call centre to ensure high standards of customer care
- Line manage all Centre staff
Youth Friendly Service Delivery and Mobilization
- Lead on the reporting and managing of MSZ’s youth-oriented program
- Work with the Programs team to develop and refine a youth mobilization strategy to scale up SRH service delivery to adolescents in Zambia
- Ensure day to day coordination of the DIVA sites in Lusaka
- Assist MSZ to develop tools and health promotion messages to increase uptake of contraception among young people aged 15-19 years
- Continuously evolve mobilization to ensure a continuous relevant approach
- Monitor monthly performance of sites and provide Director of Health Services with regular updates, in particular with focus on quality of services, CYPs, client numbers and client profile
- Ensure that the adolescent and youth services provided are of the highest clinical quality while still being user friendly and accessible
Team Leadership and Development
- Ensure that all Centre staff (Diva sites and Family Health Centre) are performance managed i.e. have annual OGSMs set, performance reviews conducted on a regular basis and feedback provided and disciplinary actions taken when necessary
- Provide day to day support, coaching and mentoring to the Team
- Identify Team members’ areas for development and facilitate development of personal development plans
Skills and Experience:
Qualifications
- A first level degree in medical sciences or social sciences, in a field related to development or health (significant and appropriate experience will be considered if no post-graduate qualification)
- Qualification in business related field
- Documented experience in management of health facilities (hospitals, health centres)
- Knowledge of Health Systems Management, Family Planning, Social Marketing and Commercial Health Services is an advantage
Skills
- Must have excellent communication/interactive skills and must function well independently, as well as part of a team
- Experience in behavior change communication methods and youth counseling
- At least 5 years of experience in a management position, preferably in health systems management, hospital management , family planning, community development, and/or social marketing industry;
- Fluency in both written and spoken English; and knowledge of one or more local languages
