Do you have passion and relevant work experience for Women’s Rights work in Zambia? You will join a small enthusiastic team working with a wide network of Women Rights CSOs and local communities in Zambia working towards Oxfam’s purpose of working towards a just world without poverty.
SKILLS
- A strong understanding of women’s rights issues
- Strong policy and social analysis skills
- Commitment to and good knowledge of working with a partnership approach including innovative approaches to capacity strengthening
- A particular understanding of gender and HIV and AIDS and their intersection with poverty and suffering
- Ability and willingness to travel and to work extra hours as necessary and preferably has held a driving license for more than 2 years
- A high level of self-awareness, initiative, sound judgement, personal energy and flexibility;
- Effective team leader and role model who demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things, share with team, and promotes high standards
- Excellent personal communication skills, in written and verbal English
- Demonstrable understanding of 360 degree accountability
- Proven analytical and conceptual thinking
- Ability to work in multi-national, multi-cultural teams and to develop good working relationships
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong programme management and quality knowledge, with ability to ensure consistent quality of standards and to implement effective monitoring and evaluation systems to assess and adjust performance
- Good knowledge of and experience with managing donor funded projects with strong financial management skills and experience of project budgeting and budget monitoring
- Excellent knowledge of the Zambian environment and issues
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably within a large development or humanitarian organization
- Experience and thorough understanding of a “Rights-Based Approach”, including
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant academic qualifications, preferably in Gender Studies, International Development, Economics, Politics, Sociology or Humanities, especially at post-graduate level
