PANEX (Pan Africa Exchange) is seeking marketing and communications interns to assist across PANEX marketing and brand initiatives. The marketing and communications interns will report to the Director of Communications and will focus on overall support for the team including the ideation and execution of marketing initiatives and brand strategies. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is energetic, forward-thinking, solution oriented and creative with excellent written and communication skills.

Job Title: Communication and Marketing Interns

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Marketing and Communications teams
  • Draft communications such as emails and social media content
  • Help prep and manage broadcast opportunities for PANEX team
  • Help compile notes to prep interviews and meetings for staff with press
  • Help pull content for daily clip report
  • Manage calendar of appearances and potential press opportunities for PANEX
  • Regularly update About Us pages on the website
  • Manage internal PANEX communications including the PANEX Newsletter featured company-wide
  • Help compile case studies and materials for awards submissions
  • Help manage PANEX Facebook, twitter and Linkedin account
  • Research industry trends and partnership opportunities
  • Manage PANEX media partnerships

Qualifications

  • Recent college graduate or enrollment in college with a major or emphasis in media or marketing
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for digital media, marketing, and events
  • Strong foundation of knowledge and experience across social networks, i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills especially for social media
  • Ability to change direction and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible work hours, with availability to work on weekends for certain events
