Leading and managing the overall Airtel Money business and performance of the Airtel Money P&L entity.  The role holder will be responsible for analysis and defining customers and market requirements and trends to ensure that the business achieves it to set goals

 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer with a dotted reporting line to Director & Africa Head -Airtel Money, the main duties are:

  •  Develop Airtel Money business plan including constructing and maintaining the critical Airtel Money Eco System. Support the development and execution of the agreed business plan
  • Define product roadmap in line with Group IT, Revenue Assurance, Finance & Commercial requirements
  • Engage effectively with the Airtel country Executive Committee team plus other Opco supporting functions
  • Engage partner banks, group, regulators, consultants and partners in service development
  • Monitor competitor activity, banks, MFI and MTNO’s activities & technological advancements to ensure M-commerce is competitive and profitable.
  • Define product objectives
  • Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams on effectively managing regulatory requirements
  • Oversee, track and make timely recommendations to ensure the operation achieves the agreed Airtel Money Annual Operating plan KPI’s and objectives
  • Ensure all Processes are in line with defined business processes as well as legal, banking and regulatory requirements
  • Provide recommendations based on an understanding of competitor offerings as well as global best practice including but not limited to banks, MFI and MTNO’s activities & technological advancements to ensure Airtel Money is competitive

  REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • University Degree in business discipline or related filed
  • MBA will be added advantage
  • Proven ability to analyze complex business issues and identify, design an implement effective practical recommendations
  • IT Literacy

Relevant Experience 

  • 8+ years experience in business development, sales or marketing
  • 5 +  years of leadership experience.
  • Mobile Banking/Commerce experience is a distinct advantage
  • Sales roles in FMCG or Retail Financial Services will be an added advantage
