EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) is seeking to engage an experienced external Project Manager (PM) for its new Core Banking System and Multi-Digital Channels’ Project. The Project Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the project including the selection of appropriate solutions and vendors. The Project Manager will be expected to work closely with selected solution provider(s), project team and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the systems being implemented within the Society including data migration from the current systems to the new Core Banking System.

1.0 Responsibilities

  • Assist the Society in the identification, evaluation and short-listing of appropriate CBS solutions and vendors for the Society.
  • Assist the Society in negotiations and contractual formalities of the desired solution and vendor.
  • Study and assess the Society’s present I CT Infrastructure and conduct a gap analysis based on the existing enterprise-wide Banking solutions and ICT projects proposed by the Society.
  • Analyze the gap based on the emerging industry-wide technological innovations and the prevailing practices of Banking environment.
  • Formulate strategies in optimally utilizing the Society’s available resources like hardware, operating systems, RDBMS etc., in areas where the Society has made a substantial investment and which may become redundant by the implementation of the new system for achieving cost effectiveness and investment protection.
  • Prepare a realistic schedule of various stages/activities involved in the implementation of the new CBS in consultation with the supplier based on the scope, as envisaged by the Society.
  • Assessing and analyzing the networking requirements for the new system and suggest suitable options for a cost-effective networking architecture/topology for the Society, taking into consideration of the existing network & network applications and the proposed ICT initiatives and their interoperability.
  • Formulate agreements with the solution vendor/s including Service Level Agreements.
  • For the purpose of Business Process Re-engineering, undertake a study and analyze the workflow of various processes of relevant Banking processes and identify areas for possible amendments/modifications to bring about optimum re-alignments.
  • Undertake any other relevant steps necessary for successful completion of the project as may be identified from time to time.

2.0 Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s Degree in ICT or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Must have sufficient knowledge in Banking and Information Technology, including domain areas such as Mortgage Financing, Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Multiple digital delivery channels, Treasury Management and operations, card business operations, Agency and Mobile Banking, POS, Internet Banking etc. Expertise in specialized technology areas such as Data Centre & Disaster Recovery Site Management, Networking, Security architecture, Application & Database Architecture etc.
  • Must have experience/knowledge in the area of Project Planning, Design, management and Review, Resource Planning, Role and Responsibility Definition, Coordination across Multiple Teams, Project Risk Analysis and containment measures.
  • Proficient in use of project management tools
  • Must have hands-on experience and assisted Banks in the areas such as Branch rollout, channel rollout, etc., and migration from legacy systems to new Banking technology solutions.
  • Must be a certified professional and hold international accreditations like PMP, PRINCE 2, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCNA, CCNE or equivalent.
  • Must have personally been involved in at least one similar implementation of Core Banking System in Zambia or abroad.

The duration of the assignment shall be 12 to 18 months. The position will be based at ZNBS Head Office in Lusaka.
