Lafarge Zambia is looking to recruit dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals as in various Departments based at Chilanga and Ndola Plants as follows:
OPTIMIZATION MANAGER (Position Location — Ndola)
OVERALL JOB
- To support, communicate, and coordinate the Plant’s needs regarding Process and Quality issues while continuously seeking to optimize and bring about continuous improvement.
MAIN ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the development of periodic forecasts of manufacturing efficiencies, costs and profits (budgets, weekly and daily production runs).
- Review plant operating performances to ensure adherence to company technical plans, quality standards and optimum production practices.
- Develop product and manufacturing improvement proposals presenting cost justifications for these and other capital improvements to the Plant Manager.
- To ensure compliance to Lafarge Manufacturing Doctrines as well as Excellence Action plans, Automation, and Capital Budget Plans.
- Develop organisational improvements and technical understanding.
- Develop and implement optimisation plans and proposals in conjunction with the Production, Environmental and Maintenance Managers.
- Develop and implement optimisation plans and proposals regarding automation.
- Promote new ideas and assume the overall leadership of progress in Process and Quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years process experience in the cement industry, electrical/instrument controls and design, as well as managing quality standards, systems and procedures.
- Good leadership and management skills.
