Main Job Purpose:

The Demand & Supply Planner (DSP) in Zambia has overall responsibility for the quality of the Demand Planning process and the quality of the resultant numbers. S/he manages key Forecasting and Demand Planning processes in conjunction with CD, Brand Building, Customer Marketing, Finance and related functions within Supply Chain to ensure delivery of financial targets by minimizing Inaccuracy and Bias. The DSP creates a rolling 24 months Agreed Unconstrained Demand Plan (AUDP)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Demand Planning process for 0 – 3 months, in weekly buckets with SKU detail; by product family by month for 4-24 months and focusing on eliminating bias and improving forecast accuracy.
  • Leads the Forecast Bias/Accuracy review process for Zambia with emphasis on Post Promotion reviews to improve forecasting assumptions.
  • Use FB/FA review output to clean historical sales data in SAP on a weekly basis.
  • Attend monthly ARM (Activity Review Meeting) for the Sub Region.
  • Coordinate integration of activity plans coming from CD, COM and BB on top of baseline to produce Agreed Unconstrained Demand
  • Highlight risk and opportunities in sales volume based on statistical analyses, activity evaluations, and CD feedback.
  • Develop and refine the Zambia Forecasting Process.
  • Complexity Management – regularly review SKU portfolio with extended teams (customer, finance, and supply chain) and make appropriate recommendations
  • Coordinate with local Brand Building and Customer Marketing teams on innovation and promotion plans & forecast, respectively
  • Manage usual Demand Planning KPIs (Forecast Bias/Accuracy loss trees, Volume Trends, Forecast movement)
  • Give the basic input for promotion evaluation and monitor promotion effectiveness.
  • Ensure AUD is submitted for in Time for Supply Planning Reviews.
  • Highlight risks & opportunities to form part of the range forecast
  • Consolidate Demand Planning activities to create the rolling 24-month AUD

Professional Skills:

  • University degree in Science, Mathematics, Business Management etc
  • Supply chain (APICS etc) qualification advantage
  • Experience in FMCG Supply Chain (Planning, Customer Service, Logistics)
  • Experience on SAP ERP, APO

Experience Required:

  • 1-2 Years in Supply Chain operations
  • Customer Service, Planning experience
  • Exposure to Order to Cash, Procure to Pay cycle
  • Cross-Functional Business Understanding
  • FMCG experience

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to Regional Centre(s) for training
