New Jobs at BBC Media Action Zambia – Deadline13 August

We use all kinds of media and communication from mass media to face-to-face outreach as well as training and capacity building to tackle poverty and support long-term change in some of the poorest places in the world. The aim is to empower vulnerable and marginalised people to make informed choices and take action to make a lasting positive difference to their own lives. We have special expertise in working in fragile and conflict-affected societies where political, security or other factors mean that media is one of the few options available to reach and engage marginalised groups. BBC Media Action is the international development charity of the BBC. We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Producer (Drama). Please note that the position is in Lusaka based but will involve extensive travel within Zambia, therefore, a valid driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional work experience as an active radio producer
• Experience of radio drama production essential
• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, production or related field
• Candidates with a proven track record of leading large scale and complex productions will be preferred
• Must have team management experience
• Experience of working within the community/ commercial radio sector is an advantage
• Candidates must have strong editorial and leadership skills
• Experience in project implementation
