The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) is a social security scheme responsible for compensating workers in respect of accidents suffered and diseases contracted during the course of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act No. 10 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia.

The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to be engaged in the following positions.

ASSISTANT MANAGER – ICT

Accountable to the Head-ICT for designing, development, implementation and maintenance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, systems and services consistent with the requirements of the Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors the Board’s computer network infrastructure to facilitate effective internal and external communication.
• Facilitates Information Technology end-user support and training, thus broadening organizational knowledge and ensuring that Board staff make productive use of Information Technology resources.
• Provides technical Information Technology advice from a specialised perspective designed to assist in decision-making.
• Monitors maintenance plans to ensure high availability and optimum operating levels of computer equipment.
• Monitors application systems, and determines user needs with respect to usage of appropriate software. Monitors the corporate database to ensure security, backup, integrity, availability and accuracy of data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years relevant experience.
• Relevant IT Certification will be an added advantage.
