Interventions to deliver these results include a loan program for specific crops, a farmer-to-farmer training program with enterprising farmers receiving and disseminating training for crop commission, comprehensive tracking of practices and results, and Good Nature Agro’s role as a guaranteed market for farmers selling select crops.
Good Nature Agro is a seed and crop marketing company that cultivates the small-scale farmer future by encouraging diversify to high-value crops like legumes. The Good Nature brand will be selling at both retail and wholesale across Zambia and neighboring countries

JOB OVERVIEW

Good Nature Agro’s mandate is to generate lasting income with small scale farmers. To do this effectively, we must rely on large quantities of data and build and maintain mutually-beneficial relationships throughout the sector, country, and region. We are seeking an individual with an exceptional capacity to think analytically, organize processes for greater efficiency, and engage with stakeholders with grace and clarity. The Accounts assistant will be tasked with the work of making sure all internal accounting in Good Nature Agro’s operation runs in a smooth and timely manner. He / She will also be directly supervised by the Program Associate to handle accounts inputs, purchasing and Petty cash.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Business Office including Account Receivables/Account Payables
  • Controlling Receipting and Reconciling petty cash accounts
  • Filling requisitions for all payment or purchases
  • Tracking incoming invoices and expenses and dealing with accounts queries and service reimbursement
  • Checking expenses against the most recent expense guidelines, correcting errors and communicating changes to claimants
  • Logging and monitoring expenditure and providing reports on request
  • Reviewing logistics and procurement expenditures
  • Physical and electronic filling to ensure prompt, easy access for Audit support
  • Maintaining and replenishing office supply inventory
  • Local Travel and accommodation booking for Good Nature Agro staff
  • Assisting in stock taking and counting

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A certificate or higher level of education in Accounts, Business Administration and Management or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of accounts and cash handling
  • Accreditation to accounts bodies and certification or a relevant technical field will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, Management or Operations experience
  • Superior skills in data analysis, presentation and reporting
  • Demonstrated business, technical and writing styles
  • Excellent oral communication skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to work independently to achieve individual and team goals consistently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively

COMPENSATION

The role is minor and is suitable for people who want to jump start their career within and around Chipata. The role is paged K3,500 gross with a possibility of increase based on performance.
