Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia Job: Technical Manager

Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia is located in Kafue 50km south of Lusaka and is wholly owned by the government of the Republic of Zambia.It is the only national fertilizer factory for national fertilizer demand.

Responsibilities

• Determining provision of solutions to plant process problems to enhance production efficiently and minimizing material wastage, industrial pollution and hazards
• Planning required investigations, inspection and testing programmes and including age of plant processes aimed at assessing effectiveness and efficiency of material input and output and compliance to industrial standards
• Consulting and liaising with Heads of Departments in charge of plant operations, quality assurance and maintenance and leading literature review to obtain data or information for effecting remedial measures for plant efficiency
• Preparing and compiling detailed industrial research and development reports with recommendations for management’s action to ensure high standards of plant performance
• Receiving, analysing and monitoring the company supplies tender constructions, technical engineering and commissioning specifications to ascertain adherence to correct specifications
• Ensuring maintenance of high plant safety standards by formulating safety procedures

Qualifications

• Grade 12 school certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Post Graduate Qualification in Plant operations and projects will be an added advantage
• Member of EIZ
• Exellent computer skills
• Five years experience at similar position
• Not less than 35 years old
