Nursing Lecturers Wanted: Rusangu University – Ending 21 July 2017


Rusangu University, an Adventist Institution of higher learning, registered and recognized by the Higher Education Authority is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position:

Job Title: Nursing Lecturers

Location: Kitwe (1) / Lusaka (1)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing, a PhD preferred and a valid nursing license for Zambia

Expectation:

  • Makes a significant contribution to all activities of the organizational unit or interdisciplinary area and plays a significant role within his/her profession or discipline.

Duties:

  1. Teach at undergraduate in areas allocated by the Head of Department and reviewed from time to time by the Head of department.
  2. Engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities.
  3. Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
    Assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
  4. Participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
  5. Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
  6. Provide pastoral care and support to students.
  7. Participate in the administration of the department’s programmes of study and other activities as requested.
  8. Contribute to departmental, faculty, or RU-wide working groups or committees as requested.
  9. Maintain own continuing professional development.
  10. Actively follow and promote RU policies, including Equal Opportunities.

Essential Supportive Skills

  1. A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programmes
  2. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  3. Ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines.
  4. Ability to teach and to supervise academic work by undergraduates.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
