Nutrition Field Officer: GOAL Zimbabwe

General description of the role
The Nutrition Field Officer (NFO) is responsible for the direct implementation of the nutrition component under the IAPF the Buhera Livestock Genetic Improvement Project. The major role of the NFO will be on training farmers on nutrition. The NFO will provide technical support to the program beneficiaries that contribute to realisation of positive nutrition outcomes from nutrition sensitive agriculture. The Nutrition Field Officer (NFO) will be responsible for ensuring project activities are achieved within agreed timeframes, budgets and according to GOAL’s standards and donor regulations.
Qualification and skills
BSc in Nutrition; Evidence of maturity and experience of working in rural community in development programmes; In-depth knowledge of IYCF, Healthy Harvest and cIYCF and CBGM; Knowledge of the PD-Hearth approach is an added advantage; Class 3 riders license/motor bike riding experience and willingness to ride is a pre-requisite; Understanding of mainstreaming principles and experience of working on mainstreaming activities especially of gender, HIV/AIDS and Child Protection; Confident presentation and facilitation skills, proven record in provision of trainings; Ability to under pressure, with minimum supervision; Good oral and written communication skills; Knowledge of Sphere and commitment to humanitarian principles; Proficiency in using standard computer software, especially Microsoft products.
