KEY RESULT AREAS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responding to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate
  • Care for and treat women during prenatal, intranatal, and postnatal periods.
  • Perform caesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients’ health and deliver babies safely.
  • Perform other surgeries in case of chronic and serious reproductive disorders
  • Able to handle and manage Obstetric emergencies.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan and provide treatment.
  • Provide consultation related to women’s reproductive system and general Medical conditions.
  • Refer patient to medical specialist or other healthcare practitioners when necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality
  • Excellent communication skills

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Obstetrician gynecologist qualification
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Experience in ultrasounds
  • Registered with HPCZ
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  •  Computer Literate.

ANESTHETIST CLINICAL OFFICER

1. KEY RESULT AREAS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Use intravenous, local, caudal or spinal methods to administer sedation or pain medications during surgical and other medical procedures
  • Supervise patients and monitor their pain medications before, during and after surgery
  • Offset adverse complications or reactions; record amount and type of anesthesia as well as the patients’ conditions throughout procedures
  • Determine risk during medical procedures by taking medical histories, examining patients and ordering diagnostic procedures like x-rays and laboratory tests; discuss with other healthcare professionals about the method and type of anesthetic to make patients numb to pain
  • Provide and sustain airway management and life support during emergency surgery
  • Manage anesthetic services and coordinate with other professionals to formulate procedures and plans; direct the duties of medical technicians, nurses and other healthcare support staff
  • Able to operate Theatre equipment.
  • Accompanies Doctors during ward rounds
  • Clerking, diagnosing and treating of patients
  • Undertakes other duties when and as required
  • Follow medical ethics according to the Health professions Council of Zambia guidelines and regulations
  • Respect patients’ rights and uphold patient confidentiality

Job Skills & Qualification Required:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in clinical Medicine and advanced Diploma in clinical anesthesia
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as Clinical officer Anesthetist.
  • HPCZ Full Registration
  • Skilled at intubation, epidurals, spinals and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Computer Literate.
