EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Occupational Health and Safety Institute (OHSI) located in Kitwe, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and established under the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 36 of 2010, is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the followings positions;
GENERAL MEDICAL OFFICERS (x3) (TO BE BASED AT OHSI- KITWE)
JOB OBJECTIVE
To conduct clinical examinations in order to ascertain diagnosis in an occupational health setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertakes timely and accurately clinical examination of clients in order to determine their health status.
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of reports in Occupational Medicine for decision making.
- Prepares and disseminates educational materials for awareness programs on Occupational Health and Safety and participates effectively and timely in the formulation and implementation of occupational health and safety standards in order to ensure adherence to national and international standards.
- Conducts/participates in Occupational Health and Safety research in order to generate information.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full-Form 5 or Grade 12 school certificate or equivalent
- MB ChB or its equivalent
- 4 years’ post-qualification experience
- Registered member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Capable of writing comprehensive and analytical reports
- Able to communicate fluently in English
- Interpersonal, Leadership skills and Computer Literate
- Integrity, Confidentiality and Sober habits
