One Acre Fund (OAF) Zambia is a fast-growing non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of small-holder farmers. We provide farmers with training and high-quality seeds & fertilizer on credit, with a flexible repayment schedule. In order to support our growing Impact Department in Kabwe, Central Province, we are looking for a humble and hardworking individual for a full-time paid position in our Monitoring & Evaluation team.

*JOB DESCRIPTION*

The position of Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator is a key position in the rapidly growing and developing Impact department. The Monitoring & Evaluation team carries out the yearly impact evaluation of the Zambia program and researches ad-hoc opportunities for OAF to improve its operations. In addition, the team frequently carries out studies to assess the holistic impact of our program on our farmer’s lives.

We are seeking an exceptional professional with at least 2 years of working experience and ideally a demonstrated passion for international development. The candidate will be expected to develop his/her skill set rapidly as there is a strong focus on professional growth within the organization and the team.

Candidates who fit the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Strong work experiences: examples include a demanding professional experience (traineeship/internship), or successful entrepreneurial experience.
  • Leadership experience at work, or outside of work.
  • Top-performing academic background graduate of a 4-year university program and a possible graduate degree in statistics, economics, population studies, development studies, monitoring & evaluation, project managers or any other relevant field of study with a strong grounding in quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Role-specific skills:
    • Practical experience with writing surveys for field data collection or experience with collecting data in the field.
    • Coursework or work experience in research methods and/or statistics
    • Fluency in Microsoft Excel, specifically:
  • Ability to process data spread-sheets with useful data validation
  • Ability to extract summary statistics using both Pivot Tablets and Excel formulae.
  • Proven ability to teach/mentor others
  • Humility, team-work, flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Languages: English (required), Bemba, Tonga and/or Nyanja preferred
