Organization Background
OneSight Zambia is an International NGO funded by OneSight (USA) and supports eye care worldwide. In 2016, OneSight Zambia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Zambian Ministry of Health (MOH) for supporting the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) with eye care (refraction) services covering all the 10 provinces of Zambia. OneSight’s vision is to have a world where access to vision care is no longer a barrier to human potential and its purpose being fueling people’s potential by helping them see clearly. OneSight works by setting up both charitable (short term) and sustainable (long term) eye clinics in host countries’ hospitals. OneSight Zambia is employing the sustainable model that provides permanent access to affordable and high-quality vision care to Zambians through working with MOH. These locally led initiatives are long term investments where OneSight provides the technical support, products and equipment to set up and government provides personnel and space in the hospitals where eye units are established.
One Sight Zambia is looking for experienced, innovative, motivated, self-starter individuals to fill the following positions:
1. Operations Coordinator
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Support the Operations Manager in the pre-assessment, pre-setting, on boarding of the volunteers and launch of eye units in selected district hospitals
- Lead training of the new eye units staff base on the location assigned to the position and make sure all products and equipment are available for the location of assignment
- Support the sustainable eye care model by ensuring transitioning of eye units into government structures
- Support the operational eye units in product ordering and shipment from manufacturing lab
- Key Performance Indicator Tracking; support target setting and tracking, monitoring and reporting targets
- Data Compliancy through entering and cleaning data in the OneSight Cloud,
- Monitor the implementation of patient’s satisfactory survey
- Participate in eye unit weekly calls to review the weekly performance of eye units
- Communicate with eye unit staff to know any issues and support resolving them
- Communicate all product related issues to the Lab Manager (these are all product related matters that may arise between the lab and the eye unit)
- Update the Operations Manager on weekly performance of the Eye Unit
- Adhere to all OneSight policies, procedures and agreements
- Develop and maintain working relationships with global and local OneSight partners
- Establish a culture that embraces diversity and maximizes the learnings from a diverse team
- Any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Degree Development Studies, Sociology, Economics, Demography and any other related social sciences
- 2 – 3 of experience working in a development related field with government projects or NGO/s
- Experience in capacity building and facilitation plus excellent writing/speaking in English language
- Work experience in the health care will be an added advantage
Competencies:
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to make timely decisions, innovative and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills
